SAT NOV 12: HAYFORK - TREK 4 TRASH. Meet at Ernie's Department Store at 9am. Everyone's help is needed! Wear sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, gloves, hats and bring water bottles and snacks as needed. There will be a picnic lunch served at Fairgrounds hosted by cleanup leaders and our local sponsor, The Feed Store and Ernies. This is the last trek before winter. Litter will be sorted along the way or after folks return to Fairgrounds. All recyclable materials will be recycled to benefit Hayfork Library or Community sponsors. Treks are quarterly events planned to clean up the town, from Frontier Village to Fairgrounds. They need local groups willing to sponsor a Trek for Trash event. The future goal is to have all of Trinity County covered, even in more rural areas like Junction City/Down River, and Van Duzen/Ruth/Southern Trinity. That way, not just a small group of people will have to do it all, they will have local groups in all communities. Martha Boyle is organizing a fiddle performance group for beginners and advanced, for those that would like to participate in a performance fiddle group that will open for this and other concerts. Performance group commitment: one initial class at Keys and Strings Studio and one rehearsal before each event begins (if you can't do all concerts, that's ok). SAT NOV 26: LEWISTON - ANNUAL BRIDGE LIGHTING & FIREWORKS in historic Lewiston. The skies of Lewiston will once again light up with a dazzling array of colors from Fireworks FX America! They still need funds to put this event on, and look to you for help. All donations are tax-deductible. Your donations to Lewiston Sparkies, a non-profit, will go to put on the fireworks and a portion of the remaining funds will assist Lewiston Fire Department in their operating expenses. Lewiston Bridge Lighting & Fireworks is a special event for many of us - please donate what you can. Even $10 makes a difference. MON NOV 28: WEAVERVILLE - LOWDEN AQUATIC PARK PROJECT (LAPP) GENERAL MEETING at TPUD conference room at 6:30pm. Fourth Monday each month. LAPP is a non-profit organization. LAPP volunteers completed building Lowden Park Pool in 2008. LAPP has been applying for grants to finish additional projects at the pool. They respectfully request your assistance with donations. All donations are tax deductible and will be used directly on construction of children’s splash area or to cover this year’s operations and maintenance costs. Lowden Park facility supports large swim events and meets, provides swim lessons and recreational swimming opportunities, and benefits children and families of Trinity County.
